Thank You!!!

Hello again! I have had an amazing January!!! I had the opportunity to travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota to visit with Paula Preston, Penny Wells, and Sarah Moses. I also was honored to get back together with the girls: Allison, Kathy, Stacy, Kayla, and Shelle for some great fun.   At The Pageant Shop, I was overwhelmed with glitz, glam, and beauty beyond compare, a pageant girls dream come true!!! I was fortunate to meet dress designer Mac Duggal and fell in love with a gorgeous pink dress he designed!

At Paula Preston's Photography studio we were treated like true royalty.  We were pampered by Kayla, a phenomenal hair dresser, to style our hair, and Penny Wells, to do our makeup!   We had a wonderful two day photo shoot of headshots and group photos with Stacy and Shelle. I had a blast and am so thankful for this amazing opportunity and wonderful photos!! A big thank you to everyone!!

Also in January I had the honor to meet with a wonderful family friend and amazing photographer, Chris Wahl! Chris is an absolutely awesome person with great photo ideas!!  The Wahl’s have been with me through many years and many smiles!!! They wanted to capture some moments of me as Miss Teen ND International!!!  The photo shoot was so much fun!  I would like to give a HUGE thank you to the Wahl family.   CW Photography, you’re the best!!!

Until next time,

Taking the Time to Enjoy Life

Say cheese! This is one of the common slogans we ask children to say when they are getting their picture taken.  Over the holiday season I got the chance to use this phrase frequently when I volunteered with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at the Kirkwood Mall in Bismarck, by being Santa’s helper.  Throughout the day I got to see many people of all ages, mainly children, and take their picture with Santa.  I heard many Christmas wishes and saw many smiling faces.  I even witnessed tears along with a few children who were scared of Santa but interested to find out more about him. It was fascinating to see so many people excited about the holidays but at the same time stressed out because they had not finished Christmas shopping.  It is important to take time for your family, friends, and especially yourself to enjoy this time of year.

I realize that Christmas has passed and we are onto a brand new year, filled with new beginnings.  However, one thing I realized from volunteering over the holidays was that everyone that sat on Santa’s lap had their own personal story, young and old.  I encourage people in this new year to take the time and ask others about their story and get to know them better instead of just by name.  More importantly, take the time to enjoy the small things in life that are so easily forgotten.

Yours truly,

Stacy S.
