A Few Lessons I Learned in International Pageant Competition

You don’t need a crown to be a queen. With thirty girls competing for one crown it can seem like a loss for twenty-nine, but I think it is just a brief stop on the path for each of us.  We have learned and gained so much from this experience we are all better for it.

You can be genuinely excited and thrilled for the winners of a competition and still be a little bit sad about not winning at the same time. I am truly in awe of the wonderful girls I finally got to meet in person and connect with. They are all deserving of that win and I have so much faith in what the future holds around us. I know that some of us will remain friends for a lifetime.

It is super important to create a great circle of influence. Surround yourself with amazing people who will support you and keep you grounded at the same time. Spend time with the kind of people who are confident enough to support you even when you’re competing against one another.

Growth requires work and doing your best even when you don’t feel like it. Being true to who YOU are meant to be will always be more important than any crown. No matter where YOU are on your journey, Let YOUR Light Shine. No one can shine quite like YOU.
